Christopher
Prentice is a co-founder and former producing artistic director
of Signal. His appearances include with the company include Hamlet

(Chaplain) and Much
Ado About Nothing (Benedick).
He directed critically acclaimed
productions of The
Weir
(three Jeff Citation nominations) and Old
Wicked Songs (two Jeff Award nominations)
for Signal. Other Chicago acting credits include Mercutio in Short
Shakespeare!
Romeo
and
Juliet (Chicago Shakespeare Theater); the title
role in Robin
Hood (Oak
Park Festival Theatre); The Tempest (First Folio Shakespeare
Festival); the world premiere musical Practical Anatomy
(Sansculottes); the title roles in Hamlet (Velvet Willies),
Macbeth (Chase Park), Picasso at the Lapin Agile
(New Leaf); Booth in Assassins (Boxer Rebellion); Jaques
in As You Like It, Lafew in All's Well That Ends
Well
(Velvet Willies); understudying and performing in The Three
Musketeers (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), Pride and Prejudice
(Northlight), Measure for Measure (Next), as well as several
seasons in school outreach productions of Shakespeare (First Folio).
He has performed in staged and concert readings for Irish Rep,
Chicago Dramatists and Stage Left. His regional work includes
seasons with
American Players Theatre, Milwaukee Rep and Illinois Shakespeare
Festival and South Pacific at Dallas Theater Center.
His film work includes the short
indie BUTTERFLY. A native Texan, Prentice holds a B.F.A. from
Southern
Methodist
University's Meadows School of the Arts
in
Dallas.
Also an accomplished musician, he is an alumnus of the world champion
Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps and a newly published
composer of works for wind band (TRN
Music). He is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association.
