Melanie is tremendously
proud to be a member of Signal Ensemble Theatre for her fourth season.
Her first appearance with Signal was as Beatrice in their 2003 production
of Much Ado About Nothing.
She also appeared in Signal's world-premiere, Jeff-nominated production
of Landslide,
and played Kate Hardcastle in She
Stoops to Conquer. She was nominated for a Jeff Citation
award for The Weir.
Melanie is also an artistic associate with First Folio Shakespeare
Festival, where she has appeared as Amanda in their Jeff-recommended
production of Private Lives and as Gwendolen in The
Importance of Being Earnest. Other credits include The
Long Christmas Ride Home (Next Theatre), King John
(Chicago Shakespeare), A Christmas Carol and To Kill
a Mockingbird (Metropolis), The Misanthrope (BackStage),
and productions with Seanachai, Reverie, Breadline, Rising Moon,
Shaw Chicago, Powertap, and Lifeline theatre companies. Melanie
trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and is a
graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University.
Melanie Keller is training as the Chicago Fellow at the Birmingham
Conservatory for Classical Theater at the Stratford Shakespeare
Festival in Canada.
